why Bitcoin reminded me of Jesus
Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” — John 14:6
Isn’t interesting how Bitcoiners always reply with “This is the way” when someone buys Bitcoin?
Isn’t it interesting how Bitcoin is often compared to a “truth machine”?
“Bitcoin is freedom” — N I C O⚡️
“where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” — 2 Corinthians 3:17
When historians find 2 historical sources for an event they consider that event authentic and add it to the history books. The life of Jesus has over 5 distinct historical sources that are consistent with each other, so, by any historical standard, the life of Jesus Christ should be taught in the history lessons.
21 reasons why Bitcoin reminded me about Jesus Christ
1. Immaculate Conception
Bitcoin release was fair for the whole world: Satoshi provided a head's up for the launch of Bitcoin: everyone had a fair chance at mining, there was no pre-mine and no digital printing. Bitcoin creation was perfect in its fundamental design, timing, and launch.
If Bitcoin would have not had an immaculate conception, it would have been considered to be a scam. Bitcoin had to have an immaculate conception.
The virgin birth of Jesus is a miracle: what would people say if Jesus would have been birthed from a woman that was not a virgin? Can you imagine what the synagogue of satan would spew if Jesus had a normal birth?
If Jesus would have not had an immaculate conception, it would have been considered to be just a man. Jesus had to have an immaculate conception.
Conception testifies for purity for both Jesus and Bitcoin.
2. Humble Beginnings
Bitcoin’s birth was humble, the price was 0 for a long time. No major newspaper has written about it, there were no mainstream media mentions, no politician or leader cared about it. Bitcoin was created on a humble corner of the web, with no attention and no fireworks.
Jesus’ birth was humble. The birth of Jesus was also characterized by a lack of attention. He was born in poverty among animals. He didn’t wake up in a palace, in wealth, or among famous people.
3. The Magi, The Cypherpunks
The magi, better known as the three wise men, are some of the most well-known figures in the Bible thanks to the role they play in the traditional Christmas story as mysterious visitors who bring gifts to the newborn Jesus.
Most likely, the magi knew of the writings of the prophet Daniel, who in time past had been the chief of the court seers in Persia. Daniel 9:24–27 includes a prophecy that gives a timeline for the birth of Jesus. Also, the magi may have been aware of the prophecy of Balaam (who was from the town of Pethor on the Euphrates River near Persia) in Numbers 24:17. Balaam’s prophecy specifically mentions a “star coming out of Jacob”.
So, the magi were men who read and believed God’s Word, sought Jesus, recognized the worth of Christ, and humbled themselves to worship Jesus. They were truly wise men!
For Bitcoin, the magi were the cypherpunks, they recognized the birth of revolutionary technology.
4. Jesus Disciples, The Maxis
During the life and ministry of Jesus in the 1st century AD, the apostles were his closest followers and became the primary teachers of the gospel message of Jesus.
Bitcoin has its disciples too, they are the maxis that teach and preach about decentralization, absolute scarcity, hard money, low time preference, the evils of fiat money, and the amazing advantages one has by accepting and migrating to the Bitcoin Standard.
5. Lifting the plebs
Jesus cared deeply about the poor and the downtrodden, demonstrating His compassion in tangible ways: giving sight to the blind, touching the leper, healing the sick, exorcising the possessed, etc.
In the same way, Bitcoin was adopted first by those that did not have a lot of money but understood what they were dealing with, thus, providing them an early entry into a life-changing technology, helping them to overcome a financial system that’s against all of us. Only more recently did Bitcoin get the attention of larger economic actors.
6. World-changing knowledge and teachings
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword — Matthew 10:34
Of course, Jesus did not bring a literal sword, but a sword of truth and knowledge that helps us in the spiritual war against the forces of darkness.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. — Ephesians 6:12
Similarly, Bitcoin brought a sword in this world ruled by evil: the sword of decentralization, making central banks powerless and theft impossible (if you hold your own keys in a secure way ofc).
7. Timeframe preference
Bitcoin teaches low-time preference because it’s the immutable foundation on which our finances can rely. In the fiat realm, the laws change from day to day, and inflation is stealing the hard-earned fruits of our labor, so it’s almost impossible to plan long term.
Bitcoin is immutable, it’s only improving, always becoming better, backward compatible, and its monetary strategy is already planned and well known and set in stone. This creates the possibility to plan long term. Many Bitcoiners are thinking in decades and not in months or years.
Similarly, for Christians, Jesus is their immutable foundation on which the salvation of our soul can be achieved. Christian's time preference is so low, that they think not in decades or millennia, but in eternity.
8. A foundation to build your house on
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash. — Matthew 7:24–27 (the words of Jesus)
For believers, Jesus is that rock upon which they build their faith and achieve salvation.
Similarly, Bitcoin is the only asset known to humanity that has no inflation, that’s unseizable, decentralized, immutable, and permissionless, the only financial asset on which one can truly be the foundation of their monetary energy.
9. Antithesis of the Beast System
Jesus’s very life began in an act of defiance to government — and would later end in defiance to government. You can read more about this in the paper: “Jesus Is an Anarchist A Free-Market, Libertarian Anarchist, That Is — Otherwise What Is Called an Anarcho-Capitalist∗ James Redford† June 1, 2006”
Similarly, Bitcoin is a permissionless, decentralized, p2p, parallel system that flies in the face of the Creature from Jekyll Island that’s at the root of the beast system.
By adopting the Bitcoin Standard you also help those that are still asleep in the panopticon prison of fiat money by literally moving value from a slavery-based system to a freedom-based system.
What is our alternative to fiat money? To the upcoming Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs)? Fiat money is at the root of a system based on slavery. Fiat money is:
- Permissioned (you can transact only with the permission of the bank/government)
- Centralized (everything goes through the bank/government)
- Closed-source (a small group of deceivers that plan behind closed doors the monetary policy, for their own benefit, closed source software)
- Inflation based (inflation is theft, so it’s theft based and debt-based)
- Coercion based (goons with guns will impose gov arbitrary will if you don’t use the money issued by them)
- Seizable (the government can confiscate your money at any time)
- Involuntary (we are forced to use the currency of the country we live in, or we are thrown in a cage)
- Mutable (transactions can be reversed)
- Slavery based (government takes taxes from you by force and funds crimes, you have to work for the fiat money system that enslaves you)
Bitcoin is a freedom-based monetary system based on sound principles that make it invincible:
Bitcoin is:
- Permissionless (anyone can join the network and transact freely without asking for permission)
- Decentralized (there is no central point of failure)
- Open-source (open monetary policy and software that can be verified and inspected at any time: there will always be 21million bitcoins)
- Absolute scarce (no inflation, the only absolute scarce form of money/asset known to humanity)
- Peer to Peer (people transact freely, without the need of a third party, without anyone forcing them to)
- Unseizable (if you securely hold your keys then no one can seize your Bitcoin)
- Voluntary (no one forces you to use BTC, BTC is a voluntary network that welcomes everyone)
- Immutable (a transaction once confirmed it cannot be reversed)
- Freedom based (Bitcoin gives you freedom, both economical freedom to do whatever you want with your money and physical freedom because it’s easier to move when you can hold your economic energy in your head)
Buying Bitcoin is a moral imperative.
10. Driving the money changers out of the temple
Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money-changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “ ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’ ” — Matthew 21:12–13
A picture is worth a thousand words:
11. Embedded Charity
Bitcoin market cap represents the nominal value that has been created and added by all that chose to opt-put the fiat slavery system into a voluntary, open, freedom-based system. Bitcoin is a store of value for human energy.
Bitcoin represents humanity.
When you buy Bitcoin you add value to humanity, you donate to all those that are already in the system. This donation cannot be stolen by anyone through printing (inflation). When you hodl your Bitcoin you lock value for humanity.
Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” — Mark 12:17
Isn’t that what we’d do if we would exchange fiat money for Bitcoin?
Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” — Matthew 19:21
Isn’t that what we’d do if we would donate our value to the whole of humanity by buying Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is aligned with Biblical teachings.
12. Jesus and Satoshi: pure selflessness
Jesus died for our sins so that we can live, He is the gift of life for us, the sinners.
Satoshi also gifted us with an out-of-this-world technology that helps us not only in our fight against an evil system but at a personal level too, making it possible for the first time in history to store our economic energy in a system that does not leak value. Bitcoin is the only asset known to humanity that has no inflation, everything else has inflation: we build more homes, we mine more gold, we create more shitcoins or their owners modify their cap whenever they want to, but we can never have more than 21m Bitcoins.
Bitcoin is a beautiful gift of love for humanity and Satoshi never sold/transferred any of his Bitcoins, and, from what we know, he had no personal financial gain from his creation. Satoshi is the OG maximalist holder!
13. Humbleness
To be able to fully understand Bitcoin one needs to humble himself before a concept that promises to revolutionize human life as we know it, one needs to start learning economics, cryptography, game theory, computer science, networking, etc. Bitcoin is at the intersection of multiple fields of study and it’s not an easy task to comprehend all the information. Learning what Bitcoin is and how it works is itself proof of learning (a form of PoW). Bitcoiners come with big phrases like “Bitcoin is the future of money”, “Bitcoin is the Internet of money”, “Bitcoin is digital gold”, and as a precoiner you’ll have to be humble and accept that you don’t understand and to start learning. If one does not humble himself before Bitcoin, he’ll end up a salty nocoiner or shitcoiner, like Peter Schiff, always screaming at those Bitcoiners that “don’t understand anything”.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. — John 3:16
God humbled Himself and came down to a fallen world … a gesture of pure humbleness beyond comprehension, at the same time, He sacrificed Himself for us by dying on the cross, a gesture of pure love beyond comprehension.
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. — Matthew 23:12
14. Toxicity, Truth
Bitcoin Maxis are considered toxic because they are telling the truth. This is considered very offensive by many, and many hate Maxis because of this.
Jesus also was considered ‘toxic ’ by many: the Pharisees were hating Him so much for telling the truth and exposing them.
Toxicity is truth.
Truth is at the core of both Bitcoin and Christianity.
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.— Proverbs 12:22
These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace; — Zechariah 8:16
15. Forgiveness
Bitcoin is for everyone: for your friends as well as for your enemies. It’s an open voluntary network that welcomes anyone that accepts the truth and the consensus rules. If you are a shitcoiner or a nocoiner, Bitcoin will welcome you if you want to join the network.
With Jesus is the same, your past will be completely forgiven if you repent and come to truth. What comes to my mind is the story of the two criminals that were crucified with Jesus, one of them repented, here is the story straight from the Bible:
One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Luke 23:39–43
Jesus forgave him and welcomed him in His kingdom because he repented.
Many shitcoiners end up repenting only after learning the lesson the hard way: by losing money. It’s better to learn from other people’s mistakes than from yours. Many Maxis try to warn and help nocoiners and shitcoiners understand the perils of their ways.
16. A savior
Bitcoin is the messiah of money, a savior of our society, it’s fixing the root of our problems, the corrupt money system, and overthrowing the rotten banking system. Bitcoin is also a savior of our human time: for the first time in history, we can store our monetary energy in a system that is not leaking value (that has no inflation).
Similarly, Jesus is the savior of your souls, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23).
17. The True Vine, The Narrow Gate
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. — John 15:1
Jesus is the true vine of life. Christ is our only connection with the God who gave us everything, He produces in us a fruitful life of righteousness.
Bitcoin is the vine of immutability and decentralization. Bitcoiners know that in crypto space only Bitcoin is truly decentralized and unseizable, so all who build on top of other chains are wasting the time on a futile endeavor. Those that build on Bitcoin are working on top of a solid foundation that cannot be shaken by any earthly entity, be it a company, individual, or government.
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. — Matthew 7:13
Jesus is the narrow gate that leads to eternal life in the Kindom of God.
Bitcoin is the narrow gate that leads to freedom, sovereignty, and financial stability. Shitcoiners like to gamble their energy away on scams and images, on false promises and deceiving lies, hoping to get rich quickly.
18. The King
Regarding Jesus as being The King, I want to let the scripture speak about Him:
On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
king of kings and lord of lords. — Revelation 19:16
Bitcoin is the king of all fiat currencies and all cryptocurrencies, there’s nothing like Bitcoin.
When Bitcoin rises, all crypto follows him. When Bitcoin coughs, all crypto is on its knees.
19. Being Incorruptible
Many Bitcoiners remember the attacks that Bitcoin went through the years, from the block wars to the countless obituaries. The attacks seem to never stop. Nowadays banksters and tech scammers are attacking Bitcoin like never before, but, of course, it’s all in vain. Bitcoin remains incorruptible and immutable.
Jesus was also incorruptible, the devil tried to tempt Him but in vain:
Attempt nr. 1:
Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ “ — Matthew 4:1–4
Attempt nr. 2:
Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ ”Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ” — Matthew 4:5–7
Attempt nr. 3:
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ ”
Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him. — Matthew 4:8–11
20. Out of this world
After a couple of weeks of intense Bitcoin study, it “clicked” to me. I was mindblown and I understood how Bitcoin works at a technical level. For me, it was a technology out of this world. Bitcoin brought to us concepts like decentralization that are impossible for many of us to fully comprehend even now, after more than 10 years from Bitcoin inception. Many nocoiners consider that it’s impossible to have a fully decentralized and unseizable system, here are some of the comments that I get when I try to orange pill nocoiners: “there must be someone that controls it”, “everything has a controller”.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. — John 16:33
Jesus was out of this world too, He came in this world and He overcame it, just like Bitcoin overcame the beast system of slavery based on fiat money.
21. Hope
Bitcoin is often associated by Bitcoiners with hope: hope.com.
Bitcoin is hope for a better world, for a meritocratic society, for a freer economy based on hard money.
Bitcoin is the foundation of a fair financial system that has the potential to bring us to a new Renaissance.
But few Bitcoiners know that through the Bible God gave us the message of hope. In the Old Testament, hope can be often found in the writings hinting at the coming of Jesus Christ and the salvation of humankind through Him.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
Final words
Just like Jesus was a game-changer for humanity, Bitcoin is also a game-changer. The beast system receives another strong blow from God, this time straight to the root of the corrupt monetary system that generates so many of our society's problems.
Many Bitcoiners came to Bitcoin for the gains, many understood that without Bitcoin there is no future and they stayed to fix a rotten system that’s enslaving us all.
Bitcoin is hope for this physical world and Jesus is hope beyond that.
They can take everything from you: your family, your life, your house, your money, your altcoins, your gold, but there are only 2 things in this whole world that cannot be seized: Bitcoin and your faith.
“Buy the truth and do not sell it” — Proverbs 23:23
Bitcoin reignites Christianity.
